Energy Modeling, Simulation, and Optimization Studies

The Energy Modeling, Simulation, and Optimization Research Group focuses on traditional and advanced modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques (theoretical, statistical, and artificial neural network models) to develop better energy systems by using art and science as tools. By focusing on interdisciplinary research in the fields of energy system modeling, simulation, and optimization, the research group aims to:

  • Enhancing understanding of energy processes,
  • Optimizing the design and operation of energy processes,
  • Designing control strategies for energy processes,
  • Conducting simulation studies to make predictions about real systems and optimize them,
  • and studying characteristics of real systems that cannot be controlled by modifying parameters in real or simulated systems,

are the objectives.
