Energy Storage Technologies

The Institute of Clean Energy Technologies’ Energy Storage Technologies research group covers all leading energy storage technologies, with a particular focus on next-generation energy storage technologies. The research group focuses on the theoretical and experimental applications of mechanical, electrochemical, chemical, electrical, and thermal energy storage systems. In addition, the research group examines electric transportation, off-grid systems, mobile electronic systems, and grid-scale energy storage systems from various perspectives. The demand for and management of energy storage systems used in large-scale, low-carbon energy sources with intermittent generation are also within the scope of this research group. Other essential research topics addressed by the group include vehicle-to-grid energy transfer, building-integrated energy storage systems, and multi-purpose hybrid energy storage systems. In addition to all these topics, this research group also examines life-cycle costs, determining cycle life, the safe operation of energy storage systems, as well as economic, policy, and regulatory aspects, along with market entry concepts.
